Never Lose a Spark of Inspiration Again
A personal companion that remembers your ideas for you
Every creator knows the feeling. A brilliant idea arrives while you're in the middle of something else, on a walk, in the shower, halfway through a different project. You tell yourself you'll remember it. Days later, all that's left is the nagging sense that you once thought of something good. I'm building a tool to make sure that never happens again.
The problem
Notebooks, sketchbooks and notes apps are wonderful places to store ideas, but they are quiet. They never speak up. An idea written down on Monday is buried under everything else by Thursday. And when your work is spread across several projects, nothing connects what you were doing with what you meant to do next.
Creators don't need one more place to write things down. We need something that remembers for us, and reminds us at the right moment.
The idea in one sentence
A personal companion that catches your ideas the instant they appear, keeps them organised by project, and gently brings them back to you when it's time to act, in whatever way you're most likely to notice.
What it does
Catches ideas in seconds. Capturing an idea should take no longer than the idea itself. You will be able to type a quick note, speak it aloud, or send it as a message, and it is safely stored before the thought slips away.
Keeps everything in one place. Whether you're a painter with three series underway, a writer juggling a novel and a newsletter, or a producer managing several clients, every idea is filed under the project it belongs to. You can see a single list of everything, or look at one project at a time.
Remembers what you were doing. Come back to a project after a break and the companion can give you a short "where you left off" summary: what you were working on, and which ideas are still waiting for attention.
Reminds you at the right time. Rather than one reminder that's easily ignored, important ideas resurface gradually: the next day, a few days later, then a week on. If a project has been left untouched for too long, you get a gentle nudge.
Reaches you where you actually are. Reminders arrive on your phone first. If something is important and you haven't responded, the companion can try again through a text message or a chat app. You choose which ideas deserve that extra push.
Who it's for
Anyone whose work begins with an idea: artists, designers, writers, musicians, filmmakers, researchers, project planners, and anyone who runs several creative threads at once. If you've ever lost a good idea simply because life got busy, this is for you.
Built to grow with you
The companion isn't designed for one project alone. As your work expands, you can add new projects and bring them under the same roof. Every project shares one memory, so connections between your ideas are never lost. In time, it could also be shared with collaborators or teams.
Honest limitations
No tool can read your mind. Your phone cannot automatically know what you've been doing in other apps, so on mobile the companion relies mostly on the ideas you choose to capture. It is a partner for your memory, not a replacement for your creativity. Some reminder methods, such as text messages, also carry a small cost, which is why the free options come first.
Where it's going
A simple way to capture ideas and sort them into projects
Smart reminders that bring ideas back at the right moments
A friendly app on your phone with quick capture and voice notes
Stronger nudges for the ideas that matter most
Reminders by text message and chat apps
A "where you left off" summary for every project
Why it matters
Creativity is fragile. The best ideas often arrive unplanned and leave just as quickly. The goal isn't to make you more productive for the sake of it. It's to protect the spontaneous thinking that makes your work yours, so that an idea you have today still finds you when it's time to bring it to life.
I'll be sharing progress as each stage takes shape. If you'd like to follow along, try it out when it's ready, or tell me what you'd want from a tool like this, I'd love to hear from you.
